The world of streetwear bangs wit' a different rhythm. A blend of self-expression, attitude, and a bit of a rebel spirit. When put in this context, it's not much different than the world of music!! And the two industries have had a close relationship for many MANY years!!! And now, the summer of 2024 will bring a newcomer in the clothing space, Big Price Apparel, which exemplifies this unique blend of the clothing and music worlds perfectly.  

 

MEET THE CO-FOUNDERS…WELL, SORT OF MEET EM

Big Price Apparel is the brainchild of founders Dustin Price and Hip-Hop star A-1 Thee Assas'n. Who the hell is Dustin Price, you ask? Actually, he's just a normal guy, like you and I. You know… wife, kids, job that he hates. The typical American. Or at least it would seem that way to the untrained eye. In all actuality, Dustin Price is a think tank, an innovator, business consultant, not to mention a longtime friend of A-1 Thee Assas'n. But if you ask him, he'll tell you he's just an ordinary guy. Their story, however, is far from ordinary!! From homelessness to jails, to separation and tribulations, the story of their struggle before the creation of Big Price Apparel is a true testament to the power of friendship, shared ambition, and the audacity to dream big…Not only dream, but…Then go make it happen!!!

 

Real Friendship

Though from two completely different walks of life, Dustin “Dollar Sign” Price and “The Dragon” A-1 Thee Assas'n possessed a bond that not only transcends but redefines the definition of friendship, and together, their entrepreneurial drive is awe inspiring. Despite apparent differences, a certain synchronicity brought them together years ago during a chance meeting in Arkansas, and the two remained in constant contact since, fostering a connection fueled by humor, ambition, and an uncanny love for music. This unique camaraderie became the cornerstone of Big Price Apparel, where their love for music and the relentless pursuit of financial success found a common ground.

Pictured above is BPA's 1st edition Signature Design of the flagship characters representing the brand, “Dragon & Dollar”. Many variations of these two characters will slowly be released, ultimately revealing a Limited-Edition Special Collector's Series. Emphasis on the “Limited-Edition”, because A-1 has announced just recently that only an “undisclosed” number of each design will be authorized for production and after that mystery number is reached, not a single duplicate will be allowed to be manufactured by the BPA company or any other corporation. EVER!!! And not to salt the wound, but also, A-1 stated that, and I quote, “the laws of supply & demand will directly affect the product pricing in real time!!”  Now, allow me to translate. To say it as simply as possible, what that means is, as the time elapse and/or the more Limited-Edition items are sold, the prices will reflect that fact by increasing at a premium rate!! Not decreasing over time, INCREASING!!! This advanced pricing strategy ensures that the value of the product will rise exponentially, but as it does, so will the price to purchase it. And this will continue until ALL of the available stock has been sold. So, the smartest thing to do, in my opinion, is to buy the Windbreaker and other special items AS SOON AS THEY ARE RELEASED and save yourself from spending any unnecessary monies!!! Because that $79.99 Windbreaker pictured above will increase in price to an estimated $98.99 the first time and $167.99 the second. And just by the time of the 3rd price increase, the $79.99 Winbreaker Jacket will be priced well over $300… AND THERE'S STILL AN ESTIMATED FOUR ADDITIONAL PRICE ADJUSTMENTS BEFORE SUPPLIES ARE PROJECTED TO BE EXHAUSTED!! (So you can imagine what the final value of just ONE of the garments will actually be worth in a very short amount of time!!) With this pricing model A-1 has introduced, the traditional cost associated with the purchase is in actuality an investment that has potential of paying 5 or 10 times the amount of which you've initially invested.

Okay, I'm just going to come right out and say this….
THAT'S FUCKIN GENIUS LEVEL PRODUCT MARKETING AND PROMOTION!!!

 

THE PRODUCT DESIGNS

The designs brought forth from the BPA's (Big Price Apparel's) innovation team is eye-catching for both adults and children alike, and honestly, I don't know of many clothing brands that can claim that accolade. The characters, based on real people, are in fact a type of extreme caricature emphasizing the PERSONALITIES of the people they are depicting. For example, the product above touts the “Dragon & Dollar” signature artwork which can easily be identified as the founders of the company, Mr. Dustin “Dollar Sign” Price & “The Dragon” A-1 Thee Assas'n, but in extreme caricature form. The brilliance behind this art is that the images are obviously created digitally, but again, based on real people, and as such, it remains appealing to younger fans, but at the same time, the image isn't overly cartoonish, wish to the older crowd, would seem too childish and unfit to be worn by adults. But the level of genius applied by A-1, who led the designs on a large portion of the brands garments, must be commended, because his ideas seemed well thought out and executed with lazer precision and purpose. The music industry has already dubbed him “The King Of Hardcore Hip-Hop” but after seeing his creations on multiple different brands and how he somehow adds the perfect touch to each marketing effort, he may well be the best branding expert I've ever witnessed in my entire life!!! Without exaggeration!!!

 

A-1 Thee Assas'n: The Kingmaker

A-1 Thee Assas'n isn't only a co-founder of Big Price Apparel, he has a slew of other companies and obligations that demand his time as well. He's an entrepreneur with a keen eye for opportunity. Beyond the worlds of the clothing and music industry, A-1 has dabbled in various other business ventures, proudly showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. When we asked where and how he developed his abilities in business management, A-1 stated that his love and interest in corporate business is equal to his undying admiration for music and the arts!! He confessed that as a young boy he was already creating and running his own businesses. And we're not talking lemonade stands here. A-1 divulged that before he was even a teenager, he had this one business he called “Alex's Cleaning Company”, where he would take calls from customers (mainly his family members i.e. cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents) and accept housework jobs cleaning their houses to make his own money and buy the video games and other things he wanted. (He later turned to selling drugs and was very successful at that as well, but that's a tale for another story.) A-1 also admits that as a child, he was always considered "weird" by the children his age because he refuses to play in a sandbox or participate in any activities that ruined his clothes or got him dirty. Sports? Nope. Rolling around in the grass or mud puddles? Fuck No!! He'd much rather spend his time reading and learning something new. Maybe playing his Nintendo. But NEVER would he do what the other kids did. A-1 says that even as an adult, that hasn't changed one bit.

When you analyze his parents, you start to understand why A-1 is who he is and does what he does. His father, a career criminal, drug dealer, and original member of the Manic Gangster Disciples, did little to assist his mother in raising him due to his extended time in prison, although, while he was out, he did make an effort to develop a relationship with his son. And A-1's mother, whom is also a gangster, instilled in him an outstanding work ethic that he continues to live by. As a single parent, she worked two full time jobs, raised two kids, and still had the energy to party on the weekends. Later in life she learned that she had a real talent and passion for sewing and making bags, accessories, and various garments. Recognizing her amazing skill, A-1 helped her turn her hobby into a business. This was the birth of ‘Moms The Muscle Custom Accessories’. Her operation grown from offering garment alterations to already existing pieces of clothing, to a full-blown apparel brand of her own. She credits her son, A-1 Thee Assas'n, for making this happen for her and working the brand so hard to grow it into what it is now. 

And she's not the first or the only person who has said such comments about A-1!!!…

I come to find out that this Kingmaker is responsible for the success of many of those he has come in contact with!! From King Wavvy Wear to WAR to EMFK Clothing to the careers of XiX, Yung Misfa, P. Slymm, KY The Midwest Marvel, OG Eddie MF Kane, Bloodflow, and even his manager John Salter of J. Salt Music Group and his cousin Tiksta from Paper Hound Entertainment credit the rise of their success to the work they've done with A-1 Thee Assas'n!!! His diverse portfolio includes ventures in the music industry, financial, and service industries, as well as retail. This demonstrates his unwavering drive to achieve the level of success that he is out searching for. And I don't think anything or anybody can stop him!!!

A-1's circle of influence extends beyond his friends and family and business partners and fellow musicians, or even his latest business partner, Price. He has cultivated relationships with successful figures across various industries, creating a network that fuels his creative drive and fosters new opportunities almost daily. These successful individuals, including prominent names in the music industry, serve as a source of inspiration and collaboration for A-1 and his new company Big Price Apparel. And with connections to artist like Snoop, Yukmouth, Gucci Mane, C-Bo, Kokane, Mooski, and Rick Ross, not to mention his many friendships with business owners and production experts like Gabe of Legion Beats, J. Prince of Rap-A-Lot Records, Octavius Miller of Next Level Promotions WCHHA LLC, and John Salter of J. Salt Music Group, he has a solid base on which to build this new venture and get it properly off the ground and thriving.

Not even being homeless or the years in prison that A-1 was forced to endure could derail the plan they had put in motion years before. The strength of their drive and focus is simply phenomenal. And after all they've gone through, they deserve to win. They inspire and encourage others to embrace their individuality as well and pursue their passions with ambition. This is the key to any success story. And Price assures everyone reading this that if they too follow their example, and chase their dreams relentlessly, they'll find that they too can create their own success stories!!!
