When you think of pain, what do you think of? When I think about it, it triggers many different emotions and feelings. The things we go through brings about many memories from the past. I've come to realize that these events that happen in our lives can either break us or make us stronger.
When we struggle, we feel like we are empty. Like the bottom of the bottle. Some of us turn to drugs and/or alcohol to cope and mask our pain. Most of us are afraid to speak up about it. I want you to know that you are not alone in what you're going through. I encourage whoever is struggling with their mental health to reach out and talk to someone. Don't turn to those crutches that only offer temporary relief (i.e. drugs and alcohol). Those types of false solutions only hold you back in the long run and lead to additional problems such as addiction, social distress (family problems, etc.), and sometimes even death by suicide!!
There will be many people that want to see you fail, but you must push on and be as strong as you can. The unfortunate truth is that suicide due to mental health struggles is at an alarmingly high rate. Though exact numbers aren't really available, the fact stands that a large number of those who have committed suicide do indeed have mental health history!! In 2020 alone, 46,000 lives were lost due to suicide. Don't let it all end because of the words or actions of someone else. These are usually the same people who have many of their own insecurities. These types of people exude toxic energy SO DON'T LET THEIR NEGATIVITY INFECT YOU. No one is perfect. “Perfect” doesn't really exist. Perfect is only a word invented by humans with a meaning that really isn't reachable. Think about it.
As human beings, as life happens, what doesn't kill us usually makes us want to be a better person. We all go through the happenings of life. The trials and tribulations. The world is full of people who are hurting but afraid to turn and get help. Many people are ashamed because we are told that mental health doesn't matter. Like it isn't important. With all that said, I'm here to tell that you that it DOES matter and there IS a reason for you to go on!!
At times, in my past, I felt as if everything was crashing down upon me. I really had to learn that not everyone is going to hurt you. There ARE good people in this world that actually want to see you succeed!!!
Another absolute fact is this…We ALL need someone!! Someone that is willing to listen to us and is going to give us feedback to guide us through those times that we feel we are in complete despair.
You have a voice that deserves to be heard!!
We all have a right and a reason to be in this world!!!
So check it, if you don't know of anyone that you can confide in and you feel you need some sort of help, like I do sometimes, then PLEASE contact the Crisis Lifeline by call or text at phone number 988. Additional resources can be located on their website, www.988lifeline.org.
